Bratin specialises in IP, primarily litigation. He has experience across the full range of IP and a particular interest in matters relating to IT, electronics, telecommunications and new media. Bratin has a degree in Physics, which aids him on the technical aspects of such matters.
Bratin has advised on a number of UK and international disputes relating to patents, copyright, designs and confidential information, and also has experience of EPO opposition proceedings. His recent work includes involvement in High Court patent actions concerning oilfield equipment, mobile phones and contact lenses. He has also worked on a number of matters involving competition law, both stand-alone and in conjunction with IP rights.
He also advises on other matters relating to IT, electronics and telecommunications, including outsourcing disputes, and on the regulatory aspects of electrical and electronic equipment.
Bratin is a solicitor advocate, and spent six months seconded to the in-house legal team of a major pharmaceutical company.
