Jacky has specialised in intellectual property law since 2003. She began her career in the IP department of a leading commercial law firm in New Zealand before moving to the IP & IT department of one of Scotland's largest law firms. She joined Bristows in 2009.

Jacky has a wide experience in all areas of intellectual property law, including significant experience in all aspects of trade mark law.  She advises on brand management and protection strategies, the commercialisation of intellectual property, availability opinions, portfolio management, oppositions, revocation actions and trade mark infringements. Jacky also has experience in IT law including drafting and negotiating IT related agreements, UK data protection law, privacy and freedom of information matters and e-commerce.

Jacky's clients have ranged from small start up companies through to multi-national companies from a wide range of industries including fashion (including owners of high value fashion brands), IT companies and educational institutions.
